Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Café! As much as I love hard rock, I have never actually been to a Hard Rock Café before.  This was our final destination (and dinner place) for the second day in China.   The first time I heard about Hard Rock Café, was because my favorite band, Blood of the Fallen, had played their third gig at one in Canada.  I had no idea that it was part of an international chain.

The inside of the Café was gorgeous; there were multiple stained-glass windows, walls aligned with memorabilia from famous rock stars of age and elements of Chinese culture.  I sat at a table that was directly in front of the stage.  Occasionally, guys would come out to prepare the stage for their gig.  I hoped that we would stay long enough to be able to watch a Chinese rock band. How cool would that have been??!

The waiters spoke excellent English and were friendly, too.  I had a veggie burger, fries, and ice-cream.  I had had veggie burgers before, but they were always just soy burgers.  These veggie burgers were different; they had chunks of vegetables in them.  It was definitely....interesting.
While eating, I had a discussion with one of the fellow delegates about the Hard Rock Café.  He had been extremely excited to come to the one in Beijing and he rattled off many bands that had had their first kick-off with Hard Rock Café who became extremely successful.  And he mentioned how it took extreme talent to land a gig at a Hard Rock Café.  I just kept thinking, Blood of the Fallen performed at a Hard Rock Café.  OH YEAH THEY'RE TALENTED! (If you wanna know what I'm talking about, go check them out yourself! here ).
Unfortunately, our delegation did not stay long enough to watch the Chinese rock band.  (But I totally added that to my bucketlist!)  We did stop by the Cafe's gift store.  I was astonished by how expensive everything was.  200元 for a shirt? I'd rather not.
